FFL Transfers in Southeast Kansas — Flat $25
Bought a firearm online and need a local FFL to receive it? Locked and Loaded Armory in Fort Scott does flat-fee $25 transfers for Bourbon County and the surrounding area — Pittsburg, Iola, Nevada (MO), and the rest of Southeast Kansas.
How an FFL transfer works
- Buy your firearm online. When the seller asks for an FFL, send them ours: Locked and Loaded Armory, 1574 Quivira Rd, Fort Scott, KS 66701. They'll need a copy of our license — we email it directly to them.
- We receive your shipment. Usually 2–7 business days. We'll text you when it lands.
- Come in to complete the 4473. Bring a valid Kansas driver's license. Our background check usually clears in under 5 minutes.
- Walk out with your firearm. Total time in the shop: typically under 20 minutes.
What's the $25 cover?
- Receiving and inspecting the shipment
- Logging it into our ATF bound book (federal requirement)
- The 4473 paperwork and NICS background check
- Releasing the firearm to you
Other FFLs in the region charge $35–60 for the same service. We keep it at $25 because we'd rather build the relationship than gouge on the transfer.
What we won't transfer
Anything we'd be uncomfortable selling at retail — stolen serial numbers, prohibited items, anything that doesn't pass a basic inspection. If something looks off, we'll let you know before charging you and help you sort it out with the seller.
Out-of-state buyers
Federal law requires firearms to ship FFL-to-FFL. We can also handle outgoing transfers if you've sold something online. Same flat $25.
